FY 2024-2025 Street Rehabilitation Project
Adopt Resolution 2024-23 Adopting a List of Projects for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Funded by SB1: The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (Senate Bill 1) created the Local Partnership Program (LPP) and continuously appropriates $200 million annually from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account to local and regional transportation agencies that have taxes or fees dedicated solely for transportation improvements.
The City has used formulaic funds to great advantage. cost-share has allowed the City to rehabilitate Port Road from Iverson Ave to the Arena Cove parking lot; Riverside Drive from Main Street to the Hay Industrial Park; and all of Center Street. Point Arena was also the recipient of $1 million through the LPP Competitive Program for the rehabilitation of Mill Street.
Every year, the City is required by the California Transportation Commission to identify projects for the next round of funding via resolution. Last year, the City had the following projects included in the capital improvement program:
Windy Hollow Road: Rehabilitation and repair of .6 mile of roadway from the intersection of Riverside Drive to the northern city limits.
Port Road: Rehabilitation of Port Road sidewalks and roadway from Main Street to Iversen Avenue.
Sidewalk Inventory and Replacement Program: Sidewalks will be prioritized for replacement or addition.
The engineering and design work and a Scope of Work has been completed for Windy Hollow Road. However, staff have put this project on hold since the City did not have the cashflow to complete the project. Staff expects to complete the project later in the 2025 calendar year.
