GRANT APPLICATION TO CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE FOR THE BOATING ACCESS

GRANT PROGRAM
APPROVE RESOLUTION 2024-30 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POINT ARENA APPROVING A

GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH &WILDLIFE FOR THE BOATING ACCESS

GRANT PROGRAM

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has grant opportunities up to $3 million under the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Boating Access Grant Program (Boating Access).

These funds are for projects that promote public access to the waters of California, including access facilities and associated amenities that benefit recreational boaters.

The Point Arena Stewards suggest that the City submit a grant proposal to fund:

1. Replacement of the Hoist

2. Replacement of Floating Dock
The grant requires a 25% match that are not federal funds. The Stewards will write the proposal, but the City would sign the grant application. And if we receive funds, the City would be the contracting agency. The application is due to CDFW by 4:00 PM, Pacific Daylight Time, November 22, 2024.

If funded, 25% matching funds would be approximately $50,000. Some or all of that amount could come from other non-federal grants.
