TITLE
Fees for Special Events
RECOMMENDED ACTION
• Continue this agenda item to July 22, 2025; and
• Direct staff to charge for City costs for the July 4th event.
ANALYSIS
At its April meeting, the City Council approved a formal special events policy that establishes clear and consistent guidelines for private and nonprofit organizations seeking to host community events. This policy applies to the following City facilities and public rights-of-way:
• Downtown Park and Fisherman’s Playground
• Main Street Right-of-Way
• Centennial Plaza, including use of parking lot
• Arena Cove parking lot and adjacent City-owned properties • Arena Cove Park (blufftop)
• “Rock Wall” property
• Veterans Building
• City-owned lot at 24000 South Highway One
Event fees were to be discussed at the May Council meeting, but the agenda item had to be continued because of lack of a quorum. Staff recommends that this item be agendized for the July Council meeting as well as authorize staff to charge all direct City costs for the July 4th event.
