TITLE
Fees for Special Events
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve proposed city event fees; or provide further direction to staff.
ANALYSIS
At its April meeting, the City Council approved a formal special events policy that establishes clear and consistent guidelines for private and nonprofit organizations seeking to host community events. This policy applies to the following City facilities and public rights-of-way:
• Downtown Park and Fisherman’s Playground
• Main Street Right-of-Way
• Centennial Plaza, including use of parking lot
• Arena Cove parking lot and adjacent City-owned properties • Arena Cove Park (blufftop)
• “Rock Wall” property
• Veterans Building
• City-owned lot at 24000 South Highway One
Staff has proposed fees for renting various City properties (Attachment 1) as well as an overview of City costs to support events.
