Monthly Department Report
Prepared by: Joe Wilson, Chief Plant Operator of Point Arena Wastewater Treatment Facility Summary / Overview
The past month started out dry and ended with a bang. For December we ended up with 9.15” of rain.
Power outages, generator power issue at treatment plant, pump issue at Cypress Meadows Lift Station.
We had no spills, violations, or permit violations during the past month.
Notable Events:
• Cypress Meadows lift station pump issue. Seal failed on pump. Will fix it in the near future. • Our Influent flow has gone up from all the rain we have had. Highest was 304,000 gallons that came in. average is 30-40 thousand gallons per day.
• Generator transfer switch ended up being the power issue we had during the holiday storm. Fort Bragg Electric came out, found issue and fixed it. A piece of cardboard was left between the contact and not getting the right volts on that leg. Since they put the transfer switch in. There will be no cost for us for that repair. It’s on them.
