May 2026 Monthly Department Report
Prepared by: Patrick Hillscan, Operations Lead – Streets and Parks & Wastewater Maintenance Worker II
This time of year, the primary focus has been keeping up with mowing, weed-eating, and tree trimming throughout the City. Staff have also been preparing for upcoming events, including Pride in the Park and the Fourth of July weekend, while timing maintenance activities to minimize the need for repeated mowing. Street maintenance activity has been somewhat limited this month, as additional time has been spent at the Wastewater Treatment Plant covering operations while Joe continues his recovery.

Projects / Capital Improvements
• Continued cleanup and organization efforts at the Firehouse, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Oil Recycling Shed, and Green Shed.

Issues / Challenges
• Aging equipment continues to require increased maintenance and repairs.
Goals / Priorities for Next Month
• Clear gutters and sidewalks and complete citywide mowing in advance of the Fourth of July holiday.
• Begin a regular street sweeping schedule of once per week.
