POINT ARENA CITY COUNCIL

AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY
AGENDA ITEM: VII G
MEETING DATE: 9/15/2026
TITLE
Reallocation of Proposition 68 Funds for Fisherman’s Park Playground Replacement Project

RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the reallocation of Proposition 68 funds in the amount of $17,290 from Arena Cove Park to the Fisherman’s Park Playground Replacement Project.

ANALYSIS
At its August 26, 2026, meeting, the Ad Hoc Playground Replacement Committee reviewed available funding sources for the replacement of the playground structure at Fisherman’s Park. Following discussion, the Committee recommended reallocating a portion of the Proposition 68 funds currently designated for Arena Cove Park to support the playground replacement project.

Of the $40,000 currently allocated to Arena Cove Park, $11,710 will remain dedicated to the replacement of trash receptacles at the park. Funding for the trash receptacle replacement was approved by the City Council in October 2025. The remaining $28,290 would be reallocated to the Downtown Park Playground Replacement Project.

Approval of the proposed reallocation would increase the Proposition 68 funding available for the Fisherman’s Park Playground Replacement Project from $24,487 to $52,777.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no net fiscal impact associated with this action.
