RESOLUTION NO. 2022-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING $4,000,000 FROM THE BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS (BSCC) FOR THE POMONA OFFICERS ASSISTING THE HOMELESS (OATH) INITIATIVE AND AMEND THE FY 2021-22 SPECIAL OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,008,600 WHEREAS, on August 2021, the City Of Pomona was informed by Assembly Member Freddie Rodriguez that he had secured $4,000,000 from the Board of state and community corrections (BSCC) for the Pomona Officers Assisting the Homeless (OATH) Initiative; and WHEREAS, the funds will be used for officer training, liaison police officer position, mental health clinicians, increased authorize staffing for Public Works, purchase equipment and vehicles, along with annual reporting and data collection; WHEREAS, the funds will be used over a 3-year period, with all funds to be exhausted by June 30, 2024; WHEREAS, the authority to accept $4,000,000 dollars from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for the Pomona Officers Assisting the Homeless (OATH) initiative and amend the FY 2021-22 special operating revenue and expenditures is vested with the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council accepts $4,000,000 from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for the Pomona Officers Assisting the Homeless (OATH) Initiative.
SECTION 2. That the City Council amends the FY 2021-22 Special Operating Fund budget by increasing revenue estimates and appropriations (291-2090-XXXXX-58688) in the amount of $1,008,600.
