RESOLUTION NO. 2022-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE AUTHORIZED STAFFING IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-22 OPERATING BUDGET TO ADD FOUR (4) POSITIONS IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, on June 7, 2021, the City Council adopted the operating budget of the City of Pomona for Fiscal Year 2021-22, which approved revenue estimates, appropriations and staffing levels for all departments and divisions within the General Fund and all operating funds; WHEREAS, frequent fiscal review is prudent to ensure that the City maintains a healthy financial structure; WHEREAS, the City Council periodically adjusts appropriations and revenue estimates throughout any given fiscal year and amends the approved operating budgets to meet the City’s staffing and operational needs; and WHEREAS, the City currently has two (2) full-time Public Services Maintenance Worker I/II positions assigned to perform homeless encampment clean-up, supplemented by part-time positions; WHEREAS, the City received funding from the State of California to continue the OATH Initiative and desires to add additional full-time positions in lieu of using part-time positions to the work crews assigned to perform homeless encampment clean-up; WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the FY 2021-22 authorized staffing by adding two (2) Public Services Crew Leader positions and two (2) Public Services Maintenance Worker I/II positions in the Public Works Department; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby amends the authorized departmental staffing as follows:
Add two (2) Public Works Crew Leader positions at salary scale GS-052 in the Public Works Department; and Add two (2) Public Services Maintenance Worker I/II positions at salary scale GS-042/GS-046 in the Public Works Department.
SECTION 2. That the City Council amends the Fiscal Year 2021-22 City special operating budget to reflect additional appropriations required for this action as set forth below:

SECTION 3.
*two (2) already existing positions will be allocated from general fund to the OATH Program The actions approved by this resolution shall become effective February 28, 2022.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall thereupon be in full force and effect.
