SUBJECT: Second Reading and Adoption of An Ordinance Amending Article XII of the Pomona City Code Pertaining to Yard RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 4313 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION XII OF THE POMONA CITY CODE PERTAINING TO YARD SALES DISCUSSION:
This Ordinance was first introduced at the April 4, 2022 City Council Meeting (Attachment 1). Section XII of the Pomona City Code establishes regulations pertaining to Citywide Yard Sales, including outlining the weekends on which quarterly yard sales can be conducted – currently the first weekends in March, June September and December. Ordinance No. 4313 (Attachment 2) would amend the Code to provide for scheduling of Citywide Yard Sales by Council resolution.
If approved, the ordinance will take effect 30 days after adoption. Staff will bring back a resolution for scheduling yard sales for next calendar year after the effective date of the new ordinance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
