Sports keeps the kids busy after school and on Sundays, which are game days. This helps them attain physical and mental health. The children learn to be more social and learn the importance of teamwork. Sports are a great tool to promote values such as discipline, respect, leadership, and responsibility. Sports can also be the foundation to obtain good academic skills and achievements that will motivate them to become professionals in the future. Unity Day LA

On July 4, 2022, Bright Prospect is joining our civic and community partners to host Unity Day LA, an event to help raise awareness for unity and restore the Salem Chapel in Ontario, Canada. Salem Chapel is the landmark church and museum which served as the last stop of the underground railroad of Harriet Tubman. Unity Day LA is a family-friendly event, complete with a Unity Walk through Pomona, live music, entertainment, games, celebrity boxing, and the Kaboom fireworks spectacular. * What is the benefit to the City of Pomona? Public Benefit support will help Bright Prospect purchase approximately 50 tickets so our students and families from Pomona may receive admission to the event without financial hardship. Bright Prospect is a free program, and is open to all PUSD high school students. 98% of our students are low-income. Your support will bring our community together to celebrate the legacy of Harriet Tubman, experience unity with one another, and participate in this important city-wide event.
