A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, PROCLAIMING TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2022 AS “NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2022” IN THE CITY OF POMONA WHEREAS, the “39th Annual National Night Out” provides a unique opportunity for the City of Pomona to join forces with 38 million people and over 16,000 communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases in promoting cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts; and WHEREAS, the City Council plays a vital role in assisting the Pomona Police Department through joint crime, drug and violence prevention efforts in the City of Pomona and is supporting “National Night Out 2022” locally; and WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of the City of Pomona be aware of the importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, drugs and violence in Pomona; and WHEREAS, Police-Community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and camaraderie are important themes of the “National Night Out” program.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA does hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 2, 2022 as:
“National Night Out 2022”
in the City of Pomona and urges all citizens of the City of Pomona to join the Pomona Police Department in supporting the “39th Annual National Night Out” on August 2, 2022.
