SUBJECT: DESIGNATE A VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE(S) FOR THE 2022 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:
Designate a voting delegate and voting alternate(s) for the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Conference scheduled to take place on September 7-9, 2022, in Long Beach, California; and Direct Staff to complete the Voting Delegate Form (Attachment No. 1) to be returned to the League’s Sacramento office.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Appointment of a voting delegate and alternate(s) must be made each year in order to take part in the voting at the Annual Business Meeting. In addition to a voting delegate, the City Council may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote in the event that the designated delegate is unable to serve in that capacity.
DISCUSSION:
The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for September 7-9, 2022, in Long Beach, California. The Annual Business Meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 9, 2022.
At this meeting the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.
ALTERNATIVE(S):
The City Council has the following alternatives:
Designate a voting delegate and alternate(s); or
Not participate in the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting.
