A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $203,767 OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE DISTRICT GRANT FUNDS TO TREE PLANTING PROJECTS IN THE NORTHSIDE AND SOUTHSIDE STUDY AREAS WHEREAS, in August 2016, the City submitted two grant applications to the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (LACRPOSD) for the FY 2016-17 Competitive Excess Tree Planting Grant Program, one for the Northside Study Area (Council Districts 1, 4, and 6) and one for the Southside Study Area (Council Districts 2, 3, and 5); and WHEREAS, on January 31, 2017, the City was notified that it was awarded a $200,000 grant for the "Northside Study Area Tree Planting Project" and $200,000 for the “Southside Study Area Tree Planting Project” to be fully expended by the grant term expiration of December 31, 2021; and WHEREAS, on May 1, 2017, the City Council adopted a Resolution accepting the LACRPOSD grants and authorized the City Manager to execute all agreements and documents related to the Tree Planting Grant Programs, including agreements with the California Conservation Corps - Pomona Center and the San Gabriel Valley Conservation Corps; and WHEREAS, the City began the Northside Area and Southside Area Tree Planting Projects in early 2022 and was granted an extension by LACRPOSD to complete the project by December 31, 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council amends the FY 2022-23 Operating Budget by appropriating $119,691 in LACRPOSD funding to the “Northside Study Area Tree Planting Project” Fund 215-2506-XXXXX-58672.
SECTION 2. The City Council amends the FY 2022-23 Operating Budget by appropriating $84,076 in LACRPOSD funding to the “Southside Study Area Tree Planting Project” Fund 215-2506-XXXXX-58763.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
