RESOLUTION NO. 2022-172 – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FY 2022-23 WATER ENTERPRISE FUND BUDGET TO INCREASE REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $100,000 FOR THE MUNICIPAL LEAK DETECTION AND REPAIR PROJECT; $5,000 FOR THE RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE AUDIT; AND, $2,000 FOR THE COMMUNITY PARTNERING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Pomona City Charter requires that amendments to the Adopted Budget be approved by resolution, with approval of the Pomona City Council; WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) is offering grant funds for Municipal Leak Detection and Repair projects; Residential Landscape Audits; and Community Partnering Program; WHEREAS, the City currently performs leak detection, however the equipment used is in need of updating; WHEREAS, the City is offering a pilot program for residential landscape audits and sprinkler repairs for up-to 12 residents; WHEREAS, the City is applying for grant, and if awarded, will provide up to $2,000 to provide funding to Pomona Unified School District teachers to provide water conservation projects to the students; and WHEREAS, said grant funds will also assist in funding leak repairs identified using the new leak detection equipment; provide residents with landscape sprinkler tune-ups; and funds for water conservation projects with Pomona Unified School teachers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby amends the FY 2022-2023 Water Enterprise budget by increasing revenue estimates and appropriations by $107,000 (571-8110-40380-51355 and 571-8110-5xxxx-51353) from for the following MWD reimbursable grants: “Municipal Leak Detection and Repair” Project; the Residential Landscape Audit, and for the Splash Cash Program (if awarded).
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
