RESOLUTION NO. 2023-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE UPDATED LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN WHEREAS, On November 19, 2012, the City Council adopted the City of Pomona Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (the “Plan), which was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on June 30, 2015; WHEREAS, in order for the City to be eligible for project grants under FEMA’s hazard mitigation assistance programs, including disaster assistance funding, the City’s Plan must be updated every 5 years; and WHEREAS, the City has updated its Plan, in accordance with FEMA requirements and presented the updated Plan for City Council adoption.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby approves and adopts the City of Pomona’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update, in substantially the form submitted and attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs City staff to forward the City of Pomona Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and Resolution No. 2023-23 to FEMA for final approval.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
