To W
hom It May Concern,
I
am writing on behalf of Canine Companions who was responsible for placing Satin IV as a facility dog with Courtney Louie, a current employee of the Pomona Police Department.

A
fter learning of the various behaviors Satin is displaying in certain environments, it is our professional opinion, after consulting with the head of our training department, that the behaviors are concerning enough to warrant retirement from her placement as a facility dog. This is not something we saw while Satin was in professional training, or she would not have been placed initially. As these dogs are living beings unfortunately sometimes fears can re-surface or a specific event can trigger the fear which cannot always be trained out of them. In such circumstances, no one is to blame. Courtney plans to adopt Satin as her pet dog.

C
ourtney has expressed interest in being placed with another dog to serve as the facility dog for Pomona Police Department and we are currently in the process of looking for a dog that we believe will be a better fit for that role.

I
f you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

K
ind regards,
K
