RESOLUTION NO. 2023-59
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE california public utilities commission local agency technical assistance grant Award in the amount of $315,000 WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) requires that the City of Pomona formally accept the terms and conditions of the CPUC Local Agency Technical Assistance (LATA) Grant awarded to the City in the amount of $315,000; and WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department’s expenditure plan for the CPUC LATA Grant award will be used in (3) areas: identify unserved and underserved areas in the City of Pomona pertaining to high-speed broadband internet, identify specific challenges of these unserved and underserved areas, and develop a strategic plan to address those challenges; WHEREAS, the authority to accept the CPUC LATA is vested with the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby accepts the CPUC LATA Grant awarded to the City in the amount of $315,000.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby approves the Information Technology Department’s expenditure plan for the CPUC LATA grant, which will be used to identify unserved and underserved areas in the City of Pomona pertaining to high-speed broadband internet, identify specific challenges of these unserved and underserved areas, and develop a strategic plan to address those challenges.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to execute any and all agreements on behalf of the City, in substantially the form submitted, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney.
SECTION 4. That City Clerk shall attest to and certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and it shall be effective immediately upon its approval.
