RESOLUTION NO. 2023-54
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF ONE (1) NEW POLICE CANINE (K-9) IN AN IN-KIND AMOUNT OF $50,000 FROM THE CANINE COMPANIONS’ WHEREAS, the Pomona Police Department’s Canine (K-9) Program is funded through the Police Department General Fund. Majority of all K-9s in the program have been donations from the community, the success of the program is only possible through their generosity and support; and WHEREAS, the Pomona Police Department received a new K-9 donation in an in-kind amount of $50,000 from Canine Companions; WHEREAS, the authority to accept and the donated K-9 in an in-kind amount of $50,000 from Canine Companions is vested with the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby accepts the in-kind donation of (1) one facility K-9 valued at $50,000 from Canine Companions to help sustain the Pomona Police Departments’ K-9 program.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
