SUBJECT: SECOND READING AND ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 62, (UTILITIES), ARTICLE VI (SOLID WASTE) OF THE POMONA CITY CODE RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 4331 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 62 (UTILITIES), article vi (SOLID WASTE), DivisionS 1 (generally), 3 (residential collection service rates and charges), and 4 (multifamily residential, commercial, industrial and institutional service) of the City Code DISCUSSION:
This ordinance was first introduced at the May 15 2023, City Council Meeting (Attachment No. 1). The purpose of proposed Ordinance No. 4331 (Attachment No. 2) is to amend Chapter 62, Article VI, Divisions 1, 3, and 4 as it relates to the award of the exclusive franchise agreement to a single waste hauler for both residential and commercial services.
The ordinance will take effect 30 days after its adoption on July 5, 2023.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with the passing of this Ordinance.
