SUBJECT: DESIGNATE A VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE(S) FOR THE 2023 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:
Designate a voting delegate and voting alternate(s) for the 2023 League of California Cities Annual Conference scheduled to take place on September 20-22, 2023; and Direct Staff to complete the Voting Delegate Form (Attachment No. 1) to be returned to the League’s Sacramento office.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Appointment of a voting delegate and alternate(s) must be made each year in order to take part in the voting at the General Assembly. In addition to a voting delegate, the City Council may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote in the event that the designated delegate is unable to serve in that capacity.
DISCUSSION:
The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for September 20-22, 2023. The General Assembly is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023.
At this meeting the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.
ALTERNATIVE(S):
The City Council has the following alternatives:
Designate a voting delegate and alternate(s); or
Not participate in the 2023 League of California Cities General Assembly.
