RESOLUTION NO. 2023-152
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FY 2023-24 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $61,484 FROM AVAILABLE RESERVES WITHIN THE REFUSE FUND AND TRANSFERING AND APPROPRIATING THE SAME AMOUNT TO THE REFUSE ADMINISTRATION FUND FOR ANNUAL LOS ANGELES REGIONAL AGENCY (LARA) MEMBERSHIP FEES WHEREAS, the City desires to maximize its diversion of solid waste from landfills set by AB 939, AB 341, AB 1826 and SB 1383; and WHEREAS, continued membership with the Los Angeles Regional Agency (LARA) will assist the City in complying with State mandates and maximize diversion of solid waste; and
WHEREAS, LARA will continue reporting and compliance monitoring related to waste recycling.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council amends the FY 2023-24 Operating Budget by appropriating $61,484 of available reserves within the Refuse Fund (582-2510-89903-00000) and transferring and appropriating the same amount to the Refuse Administration Fund (145-2505-80722-00000/145-2505-52299-00000) to pay for the annual LARA membership fees.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
