RESOLUTION NO. 2023-168
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ADJUSTING SALARIES, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE 2021-2023 POMONA POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION (PPOA) MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to create, classify, and assign salary scales/ranges for all City of Pomona classifications; WHEREAS, on October 4, 2021, the City Council, adopted Resolution No. 2021-135 adopting the 2021-2023 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pomona and the Pomona Police Officers’ Association. (PPOA); WHEREAS, the City Council has subsequently amended the PPOA Memorandum of Understanding by resolution 2023-111; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the PPOA Memorandum of Understanding by adjusting the salaries by two and one-half percent in accordance with the PPOA MOU.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California as follows:
SECTION 1. That in accordance with the Pomona Police Officers’ Association MOU for 2021-2023, the salaries for sworn classifications of Police Officer, Police Corporal, Police Investigator, and Police Sergeant will be increased by two and one-half percent (2.5%).
SECTION 2. That any portion of previously adopted resolutions adjusting salaries inconsistent with this Resolution shall be deemed repealed.
SECTION 3. The action approved herein shall become effective October 1, 2023.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
