RESOLUTION NO. 2023-170
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT GROUP A AND B EMPLOYEES BY ADJUSTING SALARIES FOR THE POLICE CHIEF AND DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to create, classify, and assign salary scales/ranges for all City of Pomona classifications; WHEREAS, on June 5, 2023 the City Council adopted Resolution Numbers. 2023-101 and 2023-113 amending the A-B Plan; WHEREAS, in accordance with provisions of the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-B, the salaries for sworn A-3 classifications (Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief) will be adjusted by two and one-half percent to maintain salary alignment with other sworn classifications; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to update the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-B Employees to reflect a two and one-half percent (2.5%) general salary increase to sworn classifications.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby authorizes a two and one-half percent (2.5%) salary increase for the Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief (A-3) classifications.
SECTION 2. That any portion of previously adopted resolutions adjusting salaries inconsistent with this Resolution shall be deemed repealed.
SECTION 3. The action approved herein shall become effective October 1, 2023.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
