Environmental Determination
The City of Pomona, as lead agency, has conducted an environmental review on the proposed project per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Pursuant to the provisions of CEQA (Public Resources Code, Section 21084 et. seq.), the guidelines include a list of classes of projects which have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment which shall, the refore, be exempt from the provisions of CEQA . If the project is approved, t he City Council will consider adopting a Categorical Exemption in compliance with Article 19, Section 15331, Class 31 (Historic Resource Restoration/Rehabilitation) in that the project is consistent with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and Section 150301, Class 1 (Existing Facilities) in that the project consists of minor alterations to an existing structure, therefore no further environmental review would be required. If the project is denied, CEQA does not apply, per Section 15270 of the CEQA Guidelines.
