RESOLUTION NO. 2023-200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $40,000 IN CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS TO DEVELOP A LATINA/O HISTORIC CONTEXT STATEMENT AND AMEND THE FY 2023-24 OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATING $40,000 WHEREAS, the City of Pomona applied for the maximum available funding of $40,000 to develop a Latina/o Historic Context Statement; and WHEREAS, on August 18, 2023, the California Office of Historic Preservation announced that it had awarded Pomona a $40,000 Certified Local Government (CLG) Program Grant, which will fund the development of a Citywide Historic Context Statement; and WHEREAS, the City is now in a position to revise the FY 2023-24 operating budget by increasing revenue estimates and appropriate $40,000 into this fiscal year’s operating budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. Authorizes the acceptance of the award of $40,000 in Certified Local Government (CLG) grant funds from the California Office of Historic Preservation for the development of a Latina/o Historic Context Statement between October 1, 2023 and January 31, 2025. The City will be responsible for a match of $26,667. The match will be split using the following breakdown; $11,000 in cash match is currently available in the FY 2023-24 operating budget under (101-1712-52285-00000) and $15,667 in-kind services in the form of staff time. This action will also amend the FY 2023-24 operating budget by increasing revenue estimates in the amount of $40,000 (215-1712-40873-58787) and appropriations (215-1712-52285-58787) for $40,000.
SECTION 2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute all agreements and any other documentation requested for acceptance of the award, distribution of the funding and operation of the subsequent agreements, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
