RESOLUTION NO. 2023-198 – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FY 2023-24 WATER ENTERPRISE FUND BUDGET TO INCREASE REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $20,000 FOR THE MEMBER AGENCY ADMINISTERED INCENTIVE PROGRAMS FOR THE RESIDENTIAL IRRIGATION CONTROLLER INSTALLATION PROGRAM AND RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE AUDIT; AND $3,000 FOR THE COMMUNITY PARTNERING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Pomona City Charter requires that amendments to the Adopted Budget be approved by resolution, with approval of the Pomona City Council; WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) is offering grant funds for the Member Agency Administered Incentive Programs (MAAP); Irrigation controller installation program; and residential landscape audit; WHEREAS, the City is offering an extension of a highly successful pilot project conducted in August 2022; WHEREAS, said grant funds will foster water conservation awareness in the context of our residents' yards; and, WHEREAS, the City was awarded $3,000 for the Community Partnering Program via MWD grant funds that will support our initiative to provide residents with access to complimentary webinar classes centered around native plants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby amends the FY 2023-2024 Water Revenue budget, by increasing revenue estimates by $23,000 (571-8127-40380-51356) from the following MWD reimbursable grants: "Member Agency Administered Incentive Program (MAAP)," and the Community Partnering Program.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby amends the FY 2023-2024 Water Operations budget, by appropriating $23,000 (571-8127-52197-51356) from the following MWD reimbursable grants: "Member Agency Administered Incentive Program (MAAP)," and the Community Partnering Program.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
