RESOLUTION NO. 2023-181
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL (ABC) MINI GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000 AND ADMENDING THE FY 2023-24 OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY SAID FUNDS WHEREAS, the State’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), Mini Grant has been awarded to the City of Pomona to fund the Police Department’s efforts in addressing alcohol-related problems associated with alcoholic beverage licensed establishments for an 11-month period beginning October 1, 2023 and continuing through August 31st, 2024; and WHEREAS, the total amount of $40,000 awarded to the Police Department will be used to conduct undercover operations, in conjunction with local ABC enforcement officers, on an overtime basis; WHEREAS, the authority to accept the State’s ABC, Mini Grant and amend the FY 2023-24 operating and revenue budgets to allocate the grant funds to be received is vested with the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby accepts the State of California’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), Mini Grant award of $40,000 and agrees to the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby amends the FY 2023-24 Police Department Grants Fund budget revenue estimate by $40,000 (215-2090-40873-58786), with a corresponding $40,000 appropriation (215-2090-5XXXX-58786).
SECTION 3. That the City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to enter into the Grant Agreement on behalf of the City.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall be effective immediately upon its approval.
