RESOLUTION NO. 2023-228
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT GROUP A AND B EMPLOYEES BY AMENDING SALARY AND TERMS FOR THE POLICE CHIEF AND DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to create, classify and assign salary scales/ranges for unrepresented Executive Management classifications for the City of Pomona; WHEREAS, the City Council also has the authority to set and modify terms and conditions of employment for the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A and B Employees (A-B Plan); WHEREAS, on November 6, 2023 the City Council adopted Resolution Numbers. 2023-119 amending the A-B Plan; WHEREAS, in accordance with provisions of the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-B, the salaries, education incentive, and deferred compensation provisions for sworn A-3 classifications (Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief) are tied to benefits provided in the Pomona Police Managers’ Association Memorandum of Understanding; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to update the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-B Employees to reflect a four and one-half (4.5%) general salary increase to sworn A-3 classifications and adjust benefits provided under the Education Incentive and Deferred Compensation provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby amends the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A and B Employees, as set forth in “Exhibit A”, attached hereto.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
