RESOLUTION NO. 2023-243
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $1,397,017 FROM GENERAL FUND RESERVES TO IMPLEMENT FINANCIAL IMPACTS AS A RESULT OF LABOR NEGOTIATIONS WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to create, classify and assign salary scales/ranges for all City of Pomona classifications; WHEREAS, a fiscal review is a prudent method to ensure that the City maintains a healthy financial structure; WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the FY 2023-24 Operating Budgets for the City of Pomona on June 5, 2023 and all appropriations for departments or major organizational units within the General Fund and all operating funds were approved; WHEREAS, the City Council approved amendments to the fiscal year 2023-24 Operating Budget on July 17, 2023, August 21, 2023, October 2 and 16, 2023, and November 6, 2023; WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to further amend the Operating Budget appropriations to implement the provisions in the MOU between the City of Pomona and Pomona Police Officers’ Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council amend the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 City Operating Budget by increasing the General Fund appropriations in the amount of $1,397,017 (101-2000-51012-00000).
SECTION 2. The actions approved by this resolution shall become effective December 11, 2023.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall thereupon be in full force and effect.
