RESOLUTION NO. 2023-239
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING $860,000 FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA’S BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS (BSSC) FOR THE POMONA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING FY 2023-24 OPERATING BUDGET TO INCREASE REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $860,000 WHEREAS, in September 2023, the City Of Pomona was informed by Assembly Member Freddie Rodriguez that he had secured $860,000 for the Pomona Department; and, WHEREAS, the funds will be used for the Pomona Police Department, for the lease of Flock automated license plate cameras and services related to the cameras; WHEREAS, the funds will be used over a 4-year period, with all funds to be exhausted by June 30, 2027; WHEREAS, the authority to accept $860,000 dollars from the State of California’s FY 2023-24 State Budget for the Pomona Department and amend the current revenue and operating budgets for FY 2023-24 and to appropriate the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) funding to be received is vested with the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council accepts $860,000 from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) for the Pomona Department to lease Flock cameras and services related to the cameras.
SECTION 2. That the City Council amends the FY 2023-24 Special Operating revenue estimates and appropriation (215-2090-XXXXX-58791) in the amount of $860,000.
