Dear Mr. Guerrero:

In our ongoing commitment to the City of Pomona, we aim to establish a strong partnership and fulfill our contractual obligations to the City. We understand that the transition of city services may be new for residents, and Athens has been working with customers to ensure that delinquent accounts are cured in a timely manner.

Over the last year, Athens has followed our Athens Franchise Collections Progression Procedures (attached) which outlines our structured and disciplined approach towards managing delinquent accounts that include manual and/or robo calls, and letters.

As outlined in Article 4 of our exclusive franchise contract, single-family dwellings (SFDs)— which include properties with one to four residential units—that fail to settle their delinquent accounts may have these accounts recorded on the Los Angeles County Tax Lien. According to our agreement, Athens is responsible for providing the City with a list of qualifying delinquent accounts for placement and collection on the tax roll.

Attached for your review is the most current list of residential customers eligible for the Los Angeles Tax Lien process, with a deadline of August 10, 2024. Please note that the customer list was generated on July 24, 2024, and there are 1,380 SFDs past-due totaling $369,644.

Sincerely,
David Collins, Division Vice President
