A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2024-25 CITY
OPERATING BUDGET TO INCREASE REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,636,371 THROUGH ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSITION 47 (PROP 47) GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, on June 10, 2024, the City of Pomona Office of Violence Prevention & Neighborhood Wellbeing applied for the Proposition 47 (Prop 47) Grant; WHEREAS, on October 3, 2024, notification was received that the City of Pomona was awarded a grant in the amount of $8,000,000 for the Proposition 47 (Prop 47) Grant; WHEREAS, The Pomona Office of Violence Prevention has been awarded $8 million dollars in Prop 47 funding, supplemented by $666,950 leveraged through an existing state grant and God’s Pantry, whose services play a vital role in supporting the City’s violence prevention and diversion efforts; WHEREAS, on June 18, 2024, the City Council adopted the FY 2024-25 City Operating Budget;
WHEREAS, the City of Pomona Office of Violence Prevention & Neighborhood Wellbeing desires to accept the Proposition 47 (Prop 47) Grant Program award and to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-25 City Operating Budget by increasing revenue estimates and appropriations in the amount of $1,636,371.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Pomona, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council amends the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 City Operating Budget to increase revenue estimates and appropriate $1,636,371 in Federal Funds for the Proposition 47 (Prop 47) Grant.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to negotiate and execute all related documents to receive the grant funds and implement the funded activities.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage of this resolution and it shall thereupon take effect and be in full force.
