RESOLUTION NO. 2024-181
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT GROUP A AND B SWORN EMPLOYEES BY ADDING CONTRACTUAL LANGUAGE REQUIRED BY THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM WHEREAS, on May 20, 1996, the Mayor and City Council adopted Ordinance No. 3813, approving the contract amendment between the Board of Administration of CalPERS and the City of Pomona to add the 9% EPMC Converted to Pay Rate During the Final Compensation Period for PPMA members only; has the authority to create, classify and assign salary scales/ranges for unrepresented Executive Management classifications for the City of Pomona; WHEREAS, in accordance with provisions of the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-B, the Police Chief and Deputy Police Chief as Sworn Group A-3 personnel, are tied to benefits provided in the Pomona Police Managers’ Association Memorandum of Understanding; and WHEREAS, the City Council also has the authority to set and modify terms and conditions of employment for the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A and B Employees (A-B Plan); WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to update the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A-3 Sworn Employees to include the 9% EPMC Converted to Pay Rate During the Final Compensation Period benefits provided under contract between CalPERS and the City.
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2023 the City Council adopted Resolution Numbers. 2023-228 amending the A-B Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby amends the Compensation Plan for Executive Management Group A and B Employees, as set forth in “Exhibit A”, attached hereto.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
