Submitted By: Anita Torres, Deputy Director of Library Services SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF 14 NEW TABLES AND 54 NEW CHAIRS FROM THE POMONA PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION, FOR USE IN THE LIBRARY PUBLIC MEETING ROOMS, DONATION TOTAL $12,088 RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-55 – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF 14 NEW TABLES AND 54 NEW CHAIRS FROM THE POMONA PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION, FOR USE IN THE LIBRARY, DONATION TOTAL $12,088 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Pomona Public Library received a donation of 14 new tables and 50 new chairs from the Pomona Public Library Foundation. These items are for public use within the multipurpose rooms and other common areas. In accordance with Sections 37354 & 37355 of the California Government Code, the legislative body may accept or reject any gift, bequest or devise, may to, or for the City.

FISCAL IMPACT: No Fiscal Impact at this time.
DISCUSSION:
The mission of the Pomona Public Library Foundation is to promote donations to enhance and enrich the Pomona Public Library’s resources and services. New tables and chairs were needed to complete recent renovations within various areas of the Library. The Pomona Public Library Foundation generously offered to raise funds and purchase these items. The furniture has been delivered and installed within the Library. Acceptance of this donation will allow the City to take official ownership of the items in accordance with all applicable government codes.
COUNCIL PRIORITIES & GOALS:
“This item supports the 2021-2022 City Council Priority 1: Fiscal and Operational Responsibility – Goal C: Obtain additional grant funding and other revenues to help achieve City goals.” Prepared by:
