Mayor Sandoval called the City Council Meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

SPECIAL ITEM
1. Official Election Results of the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-207 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 5, 2024, DECLARING THE RESULT
AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
MOTION BY MAYOR SANDOVAL, SECOND BY COUNCILMEMBER PRECIADO, CARRIED 5-0 (VICE MAYOR GARCIA AND COUNCILMEMBER TORRES ABSENT) to adopt Resolution No. 2024-207.
ADMINISTRATION OF OATHS OF OFFICE TO NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS Administration of the Oaths of Office to Mayor Sandoval, Councilmember Elect Debra Martin, Councilmember Ontiveros-Cole and Councilmember Elect Lorraine Canales took place.
RECESS
Under Section 2-42(e) of the City of Pomona's Municipal Code, "A recess will be placed on the agenda following the swearing-in of new and incumbent councilmembers." Mayor Sandoval called a recess at 5:21 p.m.
Mayor Sandoval resumed the meeting at 5:46 p.m.
CITY MANAGER COMMUNICATIONS
City Manager Scott stated there was no reportable action.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
At the direction of the City Council Emergency Sub Committee, beginning with the July 18, 2022 Council meeting, emailed comments will no longer be read into the record during Council meetings. However, they will be included as part of the record/meeting minutes.
Live Comments were as follows:
M. Joyce Bakersmith expressed gratitude to the councilmembers that participated in the Optimist Club's Annual Christmas Shopping Spree and described the event.
Gustavo Ramirez expressed gratitude to Councilmember Canales and Councilmember Martin, congratulated Mayor Sandoval and Councilmember Ontiveros-Cole, and discussed the World Peace Now organization.
