It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following resolution:

RESOLUTION NO. 2025-23 – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, DISSOLVING THE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC WORKS AD HOC COMMITTEE, WHICH INCLUDES THE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AND TRANSPORTATION SUBCOMMITTEES EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

DISCUSSION:

On September 21, 2009, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2009-159, establishing a City Council Transportation Subcommittee to assist in the review of transportation policy matters. On November 15, 2010, the City Council also adopted Resolution No. 2010-145, forming an Environmental Stewardship Subcommittee to address solid waste, recycling, energy policy, surface water runoff, and other critical municipal environmental issues. Both of these subcommittees have been supported by the Public Works Department under the umbrella of the Public Works Ad Hoc Committee.

During the January 6, 2025, City Council meeting discussion regarding Council appointments to external boards and committees, the Councilmembers previously appointed to this committee indicated this particular ad hoc committee did not meet during the time they were appointed.

At the direction of the Mayor and City Council, staff was asked to move forward with dissolving the Public Works Ad Hoc Committee because it was no longer needed due to a lack of business being conducted.
