A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA,
CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE ORDER OF APPOINTMENT OF
VICE- MAYOR AND SELECTING AND DESIGNATING DISTRICT 3
COUNOLMEMBER, NORA GARCIA, AS VICE- MAYOR
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3662 was adopted on August 3, 1992, establishing a process for' selecting and designating a member of the City Council to serveasVice- Mayor; WHEREAS, an eight month period has lapsedrequiring the appointment of a new Vice- Mayoi-by theCity Council, pursuantto Article 1I, Section2-41 (a) of thePomonaCity Code; WHEREAS, according to the order of appointment setforth in Resolution 2023-176, the next designated Vice- Mayor would be the Councilmember from District 3; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Pomona City Code, Section 2- 41( b), the order of appointment for the selection and appointment of Vice- Mayor, as set forth in Resolution 2018- 97, is as follows:
1. Councilmember from District 1
2. Councilmember from District 2
3. Councilmember from District 3
4. Councilmember from District 5
5. Councilmember from District 6
6. Councilmember from District 4
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Pomona City Code, Section 2- 41( b), the order of appointment for the selection and appointment of Vice- Mayor, shall be as follows until such time the Council reorders the rotation for Vice- Mayor:
1. Councilmember from District 3
2. Councilmember from District 5
3. Councilmember from District 6
4. Councilmember from District 4
5. Councilmember from District I
6. Councilmember from District 2
SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby selectsand designatesNora Garcia, Councilmember from District 3, to serve as Vice- Mayor for an eight ( 8) month period, commencing on the date of adoption of this resolution.

SECTION 4. That in accordance with Pomona City Code Section 2- 41( b), the order for the next selection and appointment of Vice- Mayor shall be as follows:

S. Councilmember from District 2
6. Councilmernber from District 3
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shallcertify to thepassageandadoptionof this resolution and it shall thereafter be in full force and effect.
