PREVIOUS RELATED ACTION:

On June 3, 2024, Council adopted Resolution No. 2024-76, creating the Project and appropriating $155,000 of General Funding to the Project.

DISCUSSION:

The project, “Skate Park at Kennedy Park,” Project No. 428-2590-XXXXX-71102 added a third skate park in the City of Pomona (City) located in District 1, due to its proximity to Marshall Middle School and Ganesha High School. The Project was completed and had a grand opening on November 9, 2024.

Due to the need for security at Kennedy Park during the time the concrete was cured and because the original construction quote did not have adequate sales tax calculated, the project requires an additional appropriation of $5,950. Due to staff vacancy in the City’s Parks and Landscape Maintenance budget, there is sufficient salary savings to provide for this unappropriation/appropriation to provide for adequate funding for the project.
