PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, PROCLAIMING APRIL 2025 AS “ARTS, CULTURE & CREATIVITY MONTH” IN THE CITY OF POMONA
WHEREAS, Arts, Culture & Creativity Month of April is the 7th annual statewide celebration first established by the California legislature in 2019; and WHEREAS, the City of Pomona believes that arts, culture and creativity are essential to our thriving community; and WHEREAS, artwork is real work and brings good paying jobs and downstream benefits to our community; and WHEREAS, arts inspire discovery, lifelong learning, and joy; and WHEREAS, culture creates connections, encourages understanding, and strengthens community; and WHEREAS, creativity sparks innovation, growth, and positive change; and WHEREAS, the Cultural Arts Commission and Staff lead efforts to advance the arts through programs, partnerships, and the community-building initiatives; and WHEREAS, the City of Pomona values partnering the work of Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture and state-level arts organizations such as California for the Arts and California Arts Council; and WHEREAS, this collective work at the local level and throughout the state encourages racial equity, uplifts our community, and changes our lives for the better; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA does hereby proclaim April 2025 as “ARTS, CULTURE & CREATIVITY MONTH”, in the City of Pomona and encourages everyone to join in the celebration!
