RESOLUTION NO. 2025-88
A Resolution OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, california, APPROVING amendments TO THE POMONA CITY COUNCIL GODDESS AND AWARD PRESENTATION POLICY WHEREAS, on October 15, 1984, the City Council approved a Goddess and Award Policy, which established guidelines for acknowledging individuals who serve their community and other noteworthy acts and achievements; WHEREAS, the City Council amended the Goddess and Award Policy on January 8, 1990, September 18, 1995, and March 6, 2000; WHEREAS, on April 3, 2006, the City Council amended the Policy in order to include specific guidelines for recognition requests and included a Matrix of Recognition, which categorized the requests and specified the type of award to be presented; WHEREAS, on March 1, 2010, the City Council amended the Goddess and Award Policy to eliminate the need to place requests consistent with policy guidelines on the agenda for Council approval.
WHEREAS, it has been fifteen years since the Goddess and Award Policy was last reviewed or updated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The Goddess and Award Policy is hereby revised to include language that indicates the number of times a Pomona Goddess may be awarded to any one person.
SECTION 2. The Matrix of Recognition is hereby revised to remove the title of “Youth Advisory Committee Members” under the Recognition Category.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall attest and certify the passage and adoption of this Resolution.
