SUBJECT: DESIGNATE A VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE(S) FOR THE 2025 LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:
Designate a voting delegate and voting alternate(s) for the 2025 League of California Cities Annual Conference scheduled to take place on October 8-10, 2025; and Direct Staff to complete the Voting Delegate Form through the League of California Cities online submission portal (Attachment No. 1).
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Appointment of a voting delegate and alternate(s) must be made each year in order to take part in the voting at the General Assembly. In addition to a voting delegate, the City Council may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote in the event that the designated delegate is unable to serve in that capacity.
SB1439/GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLICABILITY:

DISCUSSION:
The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for October 8-10, 2025. The General Assembly is scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025.
At this meeting, the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.
ALTERNATIVE(S):
The City Council has the following alternatives:
Designate a voting delegate and alternate(s); or
Not participate in the 2025 League of California Cities General Assembly.
