CAUTION: This email originated from outside of your organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
Dear Mayor Sandoval and City Council,
My name is Emily Miranda, I am a concerned
community member and educator in the city of
Pomona. I writing in support of the passage of the Compassion Fund and to ask council members to follow Mayor Sandoval’s lead and pledge all of their discretionary funds to the Compassion Fund. This fund will benefit so many directly impacted community members, youth and families affected by the immigration raids sweeping across our community. The recent decision of the
Supreme Court to remove the temporary restraining order, allowing roving immigration raids to continue, creates an immediate threat to public safety, quality of life, and mental health for the youth and families in Pomona. I urge you to declare a state of emergency and use every resource at your disposal to oppose the abductions of our community members.
Sincerely,
Emily Miranda
