DISCUSSION:
The existing Booster Pump Station No. 2 has exceeded its design life, with pumps and equipment that are outdated, no longer meet operational needs, and present maintenance challenges. The proposed project will include a comprehensive assessment of existing site conditions and hydraulic parameters, followed by full design of a new above-grade booster facility, featuring best available technology variable frequency drive (VFD) pumps in a climate-controlled building. The new booster station will provide enhanced operational flexibility and reliability while meeting current safety standards, reducing energy demands, and lowering long-term maintenance costs.
An RFP No. 2025-1017 – “Booster Pump Station No. 2 Replacement CIP 95090” - was issued on the City’s electronic bidding platform on March 18, 2025. The solicitation notified 104 prospective bidders, of which five (5) proposals were received, one (1) was deemed non-responsive, resulting in the City receiving four (4) qualified proposals for consideration, Table 2.
