WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING of the objectives and goals of the Police Oversight Commission? My understanding of the objectives and goals of the Police Oversight Commission is to aid in restoring the public’s confidence in the policing system, to be an unbiased auditor of the police work that has been conducted, to review and report conclusions on use of force situations, to be fair when evaluating the situations that are reviewed, to perform outreach in the community renewing the public’s confidence in the Pomona PD, and to report evaluation findings to the mayor that may influence future policies.
BRIEFLY EXPLAIN what in your background, training, education or interests, you feel qualifies you to serve on the Police Oversight Commission?
I have lived in Pomona for nearly 25 years and plan to retire in the same home I currently reside in. By trade, I am an auditor and possess the specialized ability to evaluate information, thoughtfully and purposefully ask information gathering questions, and report on the information in an unbiased way. Not only do I live, work, and speaks my time in Pomona but I also attended College in Pomona. I am fully committed to volunteer my time to help improve my community and keep making this great city become better every day.
HOW would you utilize the above-stated qualifications to help achieve the commission’s objectives and goals?
I would used my stated qualifications to achieve the commission’s goals by being very thorough when reviewing the information that is presented to me, by writing complete and thorough reports when needed, by keeping my personal biases out of my findings so I may be fair and impartial, and by performing community outreach in the many areas, business, and gathering places in Pomona that I frequent.
