WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING of the objectives and goals of the Police Oversight Commission? I would be a liason between the citizens of Pomona, the police department, mayor, city council manager and city council. Additionally, I would like to incorporate by reference, Pomona Municipal Code Article 5, Division 6, Section 2-655 (a) to (j).
BRIEFLY EXPLAIN what in your background, training, education or interests, you feel qualifies you to serve on the Police Oversight Commission?
I have been a Litigation Paralegal for the 32 years. I have read many police reports over the years. Most of my experience is in personal injury cases. I have very little experience in criminal defense. My brother is retired from the SB County Sheriff's Department. He is currently working with the Cal. Dept. of Consumer Affairs, Medical Division. My other brother currently works as a Criminalist for the SB County Sheriff's Department. My niece's husband is with the CHP. As a litigation Paralegal, I have much experience reviewing legal documents and file documents to determine which documents are relevant to the issues of the case.
HOW would you utilize the above-stated qualifications to help achieve the commission’s objectives and goals?
I would support the police department as best as possible. Additionally, I would a Liaison to the public.

If you are a practicing attorney, do you currently handle, or are members of firms or entities that currently handle, criminal or civil matters involving the Pomona Police Department? (Required per Section 2- 653.G)
Not to my knowledge. I work as a Litigation Paralegal at the law firm Veatch Carlson which is an insurance defense firm.
