RESOLUTION NO. 2026-36 – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $10,000 DONATION FROM THE CARNEGIE CORPORATION OF NEW YORK IN CELEBRATION OF THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE POMONA PUBLIC LIBRARY AND AMENDING THE FY 2025-26 OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS FOR EXPENDITURE.
WHEREAS, on February 2026, the Pomona Public Library received a donation from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
WHEREAS, the donation was given freely, without conditions or expectations, to be used for the benefit of the Pomona Public Library and the community.
WHEREAS, the City is now in a position to revise the FY 2025-26 operating budget by increasing revenue estimates and appropriating the donation to the benefit of the Pomona Public Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes the acceptance of a total donation of $10,000 from the Carnegie Corporation of New York for the benefit of the Pomona Public Library and amends the FY 2025–26 operating budget by increasing revenue estimates in the Other Revenue Donations Fund by $10,000 (FD101-CC4501-45000-RC087) and appropriating the same amount for expenditure in FD101, General Fund – CC4501 Library Administration – Materials and Supplies-SC082.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall become effective immediately upon its approval.
