RESOLUTION NO. 2026-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FOR THE 2026 LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR IN THE AMOUNT OF $800,074 AND AMENDING THE FY 2025-26 OPERATING BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUE ESTIMATES BY $196,834 AND APPROPRIATING $89,669IN THE GENERAL FUND WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Fair Association desires to contract with the City of Pomona for law enforcement services during the 2026 Los Angeles County Fair; and WHEREAS, Pomona City Code Section 46-562(b) requires the cost of security services to be approved by City Council.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth at Section 46-562(b) of the Pomona City Code, the rate for services provided during the 2026 Los Angeles County Fair by City of Pomona police personnel shall be one and one-half times the current wage for each employee, plus Worker’s Compensation and Federal Medicare Tax, when applicable for each employee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pomona as follows:
SECTION 1. Approves the agreement with the Los Angeles County Fair Association for law enforcement services during the 2026 Los Angeles County Fair in the amount of $800,074. This includes a ten percent (10%) administrative fee of $69,097 and an anticipated overage of $40,000.
SECTION 2. Amends the FY 2025-26 Operating Budget by increasing revenue estimates, FD101 | CC2002 | Reimbursable Services, by $196,834 and appropriating $89,669in the General Fund.
SECTION 3. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to execute the Services Agreement on behalf of the City of Pomona, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall attest to and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution, and it shall be effective immediately upon its approval.
