The City Council of the City of Pomona is holding a public hearing on the proposed action described below .
Project
Locations:
Veterans Park, 1945 West Mission Boulevard (APN 8707-019-903), and Vacant City Owned Lot (APN 8705-001-916)
Proposed
Action:
Public Hearing to consider Caltrans Right of Way Partial Acquisition at Veterans Park and Temporary Acquisition at Vacant Freeway-Adjacent City-Owned Land; Declaring Pursuant to Government Code Section 54221 that a portion of Certain Real Property (903 Square Feet, APN 8707-019-903) is Exempt Surplus Land; Declaring Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 5404 that the proposed action complies with the Public Park Preservation Act; and finding that said action is exempt from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act. Public Hearing is being held pursuant to California Public Park Preservation Act (PRC § 5400 et. Seq.) and Government Code section 54221(f)(1)(D)
Environmental
Review:
The City’s staff has determined that the project is exempt from environmental review in accordance with Section 1 5061(b)3 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, therefore no further environmental review is required.
The public hearing will be held at the following regular meeting of the City Council:

Any interested individual may appear in person or by agent at the City Council public hearing and be heard on any matter relevant to such proceedings. The staff report on this matter will be available on or about September 15, 2026, at City Hall, 505 S. Garey Ave nue and on the City of Pomona website, which may be accessed at https://pomona.legistar.com/calendar.aspx or by emailing the contact information listed above.

Written comments may be submitted to [email protected] by 5:30 P.M. the day of the hearing. Please title your email “ City Council Public Comment 9-21-2026”. Comments received via email will be made a part of the official record of the meeting.
Following the public hearing, the decision of the City Council is final and conclusive . If you challenge any of the foregoing actions in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing or in written corresp ondence delivered to the hearing body at, or prior to, the public hearing.
