CALL TO ORDER / FLAG SALUTE Mayor Pro Tem Martinez called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Present: Council Members Gama, Hernandez, Perez; Mayor Pro Tem Martinez
Absent: Rollins
PUBLIC HEARING ITEM
1. City Name Change Presentation
The Mayor Pro Tem Martinez opened the hearing at 6:31 p.m.
City Clerk affirmed Proof of Publication and a complete set of reports and exhibits were on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
Mayor Pro Tem Martinez asked the Councilmembers if there were any conflicts of interest to disclose. No conflicts were disclosed by Council.
City Manager Conners provided a brief history to Council on the history of the Port Hueneme name and its official adoption, a summary of research findings, and how the name change idea was derived. City Manager Conners also provided an overview on the community input via an online survey and questionnaire, and outreach to the community to determine support for a name change. City Manager Conners also explained potential monetary expenses to businesses, residents and overall costs to the City.

Discussion ensued amongst Councilmembers. City Manager Conners and Consultant Kinney addressed questions from Council.
The public hearing was continued a 7:54 p.m.

The City Council adjourned to the next regular meeting of Monday, May 2, 2022, to be held at 6:30 p.m.
